AG Alice B. de Vera earned her degree major in Management from the University of Santo Tomas. She went to Japan for further studies in management involving Filipino-Japanese Joint Venture Companies.

Since then, she has worked as a DJ in radio, drove tractors and sold them, sold Hammond organs and Kawasaki motorcycles and worked her way through the corporate ladder before becoming President of Kawasaki Motors Phils. and K-Servico Trade Inc. She established and built IWSP in Tarlac and build it she did – to one of the most successful world class companies in the country. As President and eventually as Chairman of the Board, she earned the distinction of being the first woman President and CEO of a Japanese controlled manufacturing company.

After her retirement, currently, she is Senior Consultant and Director of IWSP; Vice Chairperson for Kawasaki Motors; Treasurer and a member of the Board of Trustees of the JVR Foundation and member of the Board of Directors of several top 500 companies.

One day in 2004, she was invited by Dra. Baby Grace Palma, a good friend to join Rotary Club of Tarlac. Since then she has contributed significantly to the goals and growth of RCT.

Active in club activities was her trademark. She has occupied several positions before becoming Club President for RY 2008-2009. During her term the glory days of RCT has returned. Major projects were launched: donations of incubators and other medical equipment to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital; the one of a kind and award winning Lingap Buntis project; signages, sustainable feeding programs and many more. At year end RCT became one of the most awarded clubs in the District.

As for AG Alice, she is not alien to awards: to name a few – Outstanding Club President; District Leadership Award and Rotarian of the year and too many to mention.The Soroptimist International presented her an award – Woman of Substance.

For the District, she served as Treasurer in 2006-2007 and Vocational Service Chair in 2010-2011. She is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow.

On the personal side, AG Alice is a wife to Honorary Member June de Vera, also a Paul Harris Fellow and a recipient of the District Citation for Outstanding Rotary Spouse Award given by District Governor Jess Nicdao RY 2008-2009. She is mother to two children and a grandmother to four. Her daughter is a doctor and the son a businessman also a Rotarian of RC of San Francisco del Monte.

Her daughter Michelle when asked about her mom has this to say – “My mom inspires me. She inspires me to believe that I can do all things if I will. She inspires me to excel and keep sharp and on my toes. She inspires me to strive until good is better and better is best. And best of all, she inspires me to try to live a life of giving back. I’m sure she will inspire you as well.”

That in a nutshell is Assistant Governor Alice B. de Vera.
